Mabile and Porter Selected as Program Directors

Easton, MD—Qlarant Integrity Solutions (QIS) President Scott Ward announced that the company has selected Crystal “CJ” Porter as the Investigations Medicare Integrity Contractor (I-MEDIC) Program Director. He also identified Chris Mabile as the new Program Director for the Unified Program Integrity Contractor—South Western Jurisdiction (UPICSW). CJ replaces Carrie Ward following her promotion to Chief Operating Officer for QIS and Chris replaces Scott Ward following his elevation to QIS President. Both Porter and Mabile have also been promoted to Sr. Vice President.
“I am excited to announce these leadership changes that will continue to guide the growth and success of these two significant programs,” said Scott. “Carrie Ward has served as the I-MEDIC Program Director for eight years and established a high standard for performance and success.”
CJ has over 15 years of leadership experience in the program integrity arena combating fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in Medicare programs and four years in contract administration. She has served as Vice President of Operations and Deputy Director of I-MEDIC since 2020. “CJ’s years of experience with the Office of Inspector General coupled with her experience with the I-MEDIC will provide her a great foundation to take over as the Program Director,” added Carrie Ward.
Chris joined Qlarant in 2011 as a Program Integrity Manager working on the Zone Program Integrity Contractor (ZPIC) Zone 4 contract. In that position he managed an investigations unit to ensure all contract requirements were met and acted as investigative lead. He worked in that role until he was promoted in 2015 to Vice President for Operations on the UPICSW program. Chris ensured all contract requirements were met and acted as administrative lead for the Medicare activities.
“CJ brings valuable experience and a record of success in the industry that aligns with Qlarant goals and vision,” Scott continued. “Chris’ extensive background, expertise, and understanding of the program integrity industry makes him a perfect fit for leading the UPIC SW towards continued success. These leadership changes are part of the commitment to evolve and adjust to the program integrity landscape, ensuring Qlarant stays at the forefront in the work that we do.”
“CJ and Chris are fantastic choices to fill these key roles,” said Qlarant CEO Dr. Ron Forsythe, Jr. “It is a testament to the quality people we have at Qlarant that we have two people from within the company to fill Carrie and Scott’s shoes. It’s a win-win that we can continue to move forward with a team that has been essential to Qlarant’s success.”
“I am thankful for—and excited about—the opportunity to serve in the role of I-MEDIC Program Director,” said CJ. “The I-MEDIC is a team of exceptionally talented and dedicated professionals that make a huge and positive impact through their work fighting FWA in the Medicare Part C and Part D programs; it is a privilege to lead this team.”
“I am grateful for the recent promotion to Sr. Vice President/Program Director for UPIC Southwest,” said Chris. “It’s been an honor to work with everyone at Qlarant for the past 14 years and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue our work protecting the Medicare and Medicaid programs in this new position.”
CJ has a long history with The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) from 2009 to 2020. She held several progressive positions culminating as Special Agent in Charge at the Dallas Regional office covering five states and thirteen judicial districts, and supporting more than 67 special agents and staff. The unit had an operating budget of approximately half a million dollars, which succeeded in more than 200 criminal, civil, or Civil Monetary Penalty Law (CMPL) resolutions and restitution in excess of $1.5 billion to HHS programs.
Before working at Qlarant Chris was a Senior Investigator for TrustSolutions in Dallas, Texas where he conducted case reviews, coached and evaluated special investigations unit staff.
