Ms. Mason has over 24 years of experience in data mining and statistical analysis to identify and support healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse investigations and audits in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Before leading the UPIC West team, Ms. Mason held the positions of Vice President of Analytics and Operations, Senior Scientist, and ZPIC Chief Statistician. Prior to joining Qlarant in 2013, she worked approximately fifteen years at the Medicare Administrative Contractor serving as the Data Analytics Manager overseeing the Data Team and as Statistician. She holds a Master’s in Statistics and a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematical Sciences from Texas A&M University. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Ms. Mason has served as a statistical expert in appeals, provided testimony in many administrative hearings, and supported numerous law enforcement cases.
