The Chesapeake College Foundation raises funds for Chesapeake College to enhance learning through the support of scholarships, technology, and programs. The College harnesses the talent and resources necessary for students, employees and citizens of the region to thrive as individuals and as contributors to their communities and to society.
Chesapeake College received a grant of $15,000 to support the development and implementation of a year-long “Navigating Your Health” workshop series targeted toward the aging population in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties. This workshop series will be designed to use the resources and technology available at Chesapeake College’s new Health Professions and Athletics Center and experts in the healthcare field to empower the aging population and their caregivers as informed healthcare consumers. This project will contribute to the improvement of healthcare on the Mid-Shore by giving consumers tools for managing their healthcare needs and successfully navigating the healthcare-related situations in which they will find themselves as they age. It will also create opportunities for healthcare providers to work collaboratively to provide important information and education to one of the largest, most healthcare-dependent demographic populations in the region.
