Definite Articles blog logoAfter more than 50 years in business, what is it that makes Qlarant not just survive, but thrive, in this challenging marketplace? Why do our clients come back to Qlarant again and again to meet their business needs? And why do people come to Qlarant, commit themselves to our mission, and stay? The answer is easy – it’s our people and the positive, dynamic culture we’ve created.

This month marks the beginning of Qlarant’s renewed culture conversation. We’re not trying to create a new culture – we are celebrating the culture that makes us great. We’re expressing that culture using five core values to emphasize what continues to make Qlarant a place that people want to work and work with.

Why is culture (and talking about culture) important?

As noted in Forbes magazine, “organizational culture is a powerful dynamic…[that] cements employee’s confidence in their work, and keeps them motivated to do their best.” Companies with a strong culture have engaged employees who feel fulfilled, and want to work hard. They’re less likely to leave the organization because they appreciate being part of a community of like-minded individuals who work together to serve their clients.

Talking about Qlarant’s culture allows us to have a common vocabulary and enables us to focus on the things that make Qlarant great; the ways we recognize and reward our colleagues and how we talk about our Qlarant community to each other, our clients, candidates for our positions, and even among our friends and family. Ensuring that our associates are engaged in our culture also helps quickly acclimate new hires to how we work here and provides a set of values to guide them in their interactions with our customers.

When we discuss the behaviors that demonstrate those values and the outcomes we hope to achieve, we establish a framework to build upon. Those conversations will live on, even as new leaders and associates join the organization and long-tenured employees retire.

Our Core Values

  • Quality
  • Leadership
  • Integrity
  • Innovation
  • Collaboration

These values originate from associate input and highlight how we operate. It’s no accident that our values are so closely aligned with our business. Quality and Integrity are at the core of our two largest business units, Quality Improvement Solutions and Program Integrity Solutions, but they are also essential elements of the people who work at Qlarant. Leadership, Collaboration, and Innovation allow us to rise above our competitors. Living these values each day, individually and collectively, reflect how we are known as a business and work community.
